Im honored
interesting take on tetris
my favorite part of this is turning on the faces and ripping the tetris blocks to shreds in drag mode
It's pretty alright, though I'd say maybe shorten the length of the winning animation (maybe shorten it to the length of the cash bag animation) because it seems like the character dances the whole entire half of the song that plays, and it might get exhausting having to sit through it each time you beat a boss. And also I'd recommend having it so that an enemy completely disappears when you defeat it in a room, that way the player doesn't cheat by coming back to the same room and defeating it over and over.
Well yeah, Sorry for that long Win animation , but about the enemies despawning, i don't think it's possible on scratch however, and even It is, i don't want to mess with the code however,
This is gonna be a long one, but I've got a few pointers that may help you out.
While I do like the idea of a 1930's black and white cartoon platformer, I feel like the juxtaposition of the acoustic sounding instruments from the map/level start screen and the techno-sounding music that plays during the level totally threw me off the first time I played it. I'd recommend changing it to fit the classic cartoon aesthetic you're going for. I also feel like the camera should be a bit closer to Pouchie, that way you have more room to see what's up ahead of you, like the pits, and the enemies. I feel like he's too far to the right when I'm moving, and it makes it harder to see what's coming. And I'm not 100% sure, but I think what the previous feedback meant by "floaty" might refer to the collision between the cat and the ground, just from playing it myself, it's easy to slip off the platform and fall off. I would tweak the collision detection a bit, like having the level tiles be a solid square, that way the round edges doesn't cause the cat to fall off, or tweak how much the character slides after landing from a jump or stopping. Overall though, this game has some good potential. Keep it up!
Thank you for the feedback! I definitely intend to change up the music. I've only been using free stuff I found on the internet, as well as testing out some things in Bandlab (A knock-off of GarageBand). When it comes to Pouchie slipping off the edge, all the tilemap collision boxes are fully square, which means that the problem would have more to do with the fact that Pouchie's collision box is pill-shaped. I could always change that, but changing to a rectangle collision shape could also be problematic, as he'd be easier to hit in the corners. For now though, I'll see what can be done for him to stop sliding as much.
man, i used to play this game when it was hosted on sites like agames.com back in the day
it definitely brings back memories!
i love this, the pixelated sketchy look kinda gives off the vibe of those animated stick figure fights from ye olden days of Flipnote Hatena
