whew sorry about the extremely long gaps between posting stuff, been busy working on finishing up a new cartoon rn that i've been working on for a while

in the meantime, i'm gonna be reuploading the three animation projects i did from animation class last year onto my YouTube page (starting with THIS one)

First of all, I know it’s already a few weeks old, and its definitely not new, but thanks for the great feedback on my cel animation! I haven’t had time to reply to them, but I really do appreciate it, it really helps!

oh and thanks for the daily pick that week, too ( i meant to get this blog post out much, much earlier but i’ve also been trying to finish my music, too. plus i got sick last week, so i hadda push this back even more.)

Felt like the current one I had has been showing its age, with the ugly airbrush shading and all, and the vaporwave looking aesthetic of the background's kinda worn off on me after a while.

And it was up there since 2019. Back when I was still trying to figure out how to use Flash and out how to draw the snout of my own sona's face. Even with me redrawing the nose later that year, you can still see a lot of jank, especially in the shading area.

For a while I’ve been really wanting to switch out that old profile pic, but I haven’t really gotten around to doing it until now, which you can take a look at down here:

►►THINGS I'M PLANNING ON DOING

• I did mention this before, but what do you think of me eventually taking up commissions at some point? Genuinely asking. This is something I've been considering doing for a while now (because college isnt cheap and we kinda need help :\) I've been trying to brush up my drawing skills, and I was wondering how you'd feel if I just started setting up commissions and such, like drawing your characters and stuff?*

• I also want to get around to sharing some more of my photography work from 2020, too (dont worry, they're not like plain, boring stock still life photos that will eat up the art portal)

If you want to know what that's like, here's one of my personal favorites I uploaded a few months ago:

• And eventually, I want to try to get around to finishing the animations I hadn't got a chance to finish because of the work piling up from college. This semester's a bit more lightweight than the other one, so I think I can manage being able to finish some stuff.

But that's pretty much all I have for now, refreshing to not have a depressing blog post for once, huh?

I'll try to do more stuff, when I'm not busy back at home, at least.

That's enough doom and gloom for one year.

I’m gonna be blunt, this year sucked. No more, no less.

As much as I'd like to post personal updates on myself though, I don't think Newgrounds of all places is the best place to do this sort of stuff. I don't want this page to give off depressing vibes, because I'm sure that's not what you're here for. 

I know, its been kind of a gap year with my slow output this year, unfortunately. And I’ve been going through a lot, along with being busy with college.

Sure, this year may have been a terrible, awful year, but it wasn't all that bad, like I can list off some good things that happened during the year.

• First of all, my mom beat cancer, with the help and support of me and my family.
• I'm almost done with my community college, so I may graduate this year. (honestly shocked how soon it feels, thought i had long ways to go after taking less classes per semester, huh)
• I finally got to take an animation course, which was something I've always wanted to do since I enrolled, and I’ve been trying to get back into drawing more after taking that animation class kinda gave me a bit of a boost.
• My Flipnote I did earlier this year made it on the Sudomemo Rewind for 2022, which was pretty surprising to me, but I’m glad it got featured there!
• Quite a few of my stuff got featured on the front page of this site, which was also really cool to see, thanks to you, I appreciate your support for my stuff!
• And despite everything, I’m glad to still have my pals around to talk to, crack jokes with, screw around and stuff.

I don’t know what to expect for this coming year, but hopefully it won’t be as egregious as 2022 had been.  

Goals for 2023?

Finish… SOMETHING for once, regain some positive energy too,

…and definitely work on my social skills.

But yeah, I want to see if I can finish any of my animation projects this coming year, hopefully more than one. Maybe start taking commissions even, if time allows it.

So yeah, 2022’s over, thank God.

Let’s just see what sort of things 2023 brings… sip on some champagne… whatever people do to send off the whole year i dunno

2022, what an eventful year it was for me.

This is pretty much a follow-up from this post I made last summer, but also doubling as a year-in-a-review sort of thing.

So, we're pretty much near the end of this year (surprisingly went by pretty quickly for everything that happened), and I just wanted to give another update on stuff going on back at home.

Some great news first, my mom's been finished with her treatments for her sickness since October, as I mentioned in that post, and it was eventually confirmed last month that she was in remission. I personally didn't want to say what it was that she was being treated for, but since it's finally done, I guess I can say what it was, she was diagnosed with cancer back in April, or March, can't remember which month, but it was absolutely devastating when I first found out about it. Thankfully, we caught it early and had it treated right away. It was a harsh several months for her, with the chemotherapy and the radiation treatment, but now she's completely cancer-free!

I wanted to talk about this earlier, but I was still trying to get through my difficult earth science class, and although I was on break when I heard the news, I was still pretty exhausted from the exam I took prior to thanksgiving break, but I'm just thankful that she's still around for me, she can live to see another day, I'm just so happy for her, especially after everything she went through, and I love her so much.

As for me though, I'm still kinda hanging in there, surprisingly I’m almost done with my community college, but this semester that just passed was pretty stressful, and the situation with my mom going through the treatments, combined with the expenses of college classes sort of took a financial hit on us, since my dad had to take off days of work to take care of her, mom couldn't work anymore since she was sick and getting treated.

Because of all that, I've been considering trying out commissions if I'm not super busy with college to hopefully help me and my family out, but I dunno, I need to find a good time for it, especially with balancing the coursework of college and all the other stuff life slings at me. But, what do you guys think of me doing commissions at some point? Should I try it out for a bit? Please let me know below in the comments, thanks.

One more thing, and this one hits really hard for me, but a few weeks ago, as I was finishing up my last few weeks of my semester, I found out my grandpa from my dad’s side unfortunately just passed away. Hearing the news, as I was going through my last few weeks of my semester, really hurt for me and my dad, because now I’ve lost both of my grandparents on his side. We’re okay now though, just the week I found out about it was devastating. I'll miss him so much.

And that's pretty much all I have right now, for real life stuff at home, we went through a lot this year, I hope next year's not as bad, maybe the year of healing.

Meanwhile, not sure if this exactly counts as a holiday thing, but I finally got to upload that old photography project I did a couple years ago. I figured since it’s been two years since I made it, and it was taken during the holidays, I thought I’d just finally post it now.

I also made a music track too, in between working on my earth science stuff, but that’s gonna come a bit later.

Sorry if my posts have been very scattered this year, it's just been a stressful year so far, with college, my mom’s condition and stuff, but I'm still holding out, in fact I feel like my mental well-being has gotten a bit better since that post, just finally expressing everything going on and such, plus I made some amends with some former mutuals in the past, which definitely helped my self-esteem a bit, at least knowing that there's no hard feelings and they're doing better. Still not sure when I'll be back to posting on Instagram, if I should fully return to posting on Instagram either (considering my bias against facebook, or whatever they're calling themselves now, and social media's falling apart at the seams at this point with Elon and Twitter...), also sorry if this post came off a bit sappy and depressing, but I really needed to get this out.

Hopefully next year might be better, and thanks for the support and feedback on my recent stuff, I really appreciate it!

That's pretty much what I have for now, Christmas is coming at an approximate 999mph, so it's REALLY close, and it's freezing out there, so bundle up, sip on some hot cocoa, and spend some time with your friends and family.

hi! couple things today

i just finished up this "director's cut" of that flipnote i put up on sudomemo! basically, i just put in stuff that i couldn't add into the DSi version due to memory limitations, using flash to splice in the frames with the extra effects

can't really put this up here because of the usual copyright stuff, so i put it up on my youtube. enjoy!

also, i've officially hit my 21st birthday, and now i can legally drink like a MAN
